Warwick Davies is the Principal at The Event Doctor!, a consulting business which assists event organizers and associations grow profits and revenues, launch new events from ‘scratch’ and bring events overseas. Prior to The Event Doctor!, he was Group Vice President at IDG World Expo responsible for the Macworld Conference & Expo and LinuxWorld Conference & Expo brands, having joined the company in 2003.
Before joining IDG World Expo, he was Vice President of Expositions and International Business Development at DCI, one of North America's premier business and technology conference and exposition organizers. At DCI, Warwick conceived and launched DCI's international conference program, including events in the UK, Germany, France, Japan, the Netherlands, Belgium and Spain. He also held worldwide responsibility for DCI's Customer Relationship Conference and Exposition.
Prior to joining DCI, Warwick held a series of international sales, marketing, operations and administration management positions with KLM Royal Dutch Airlines, Lufthansa German Airlines, Hertz Corporation and the British Government.
Warwick is also author of The Freeport Experiment, a book detailing the success and failures of the UK free trade zones. He holds a BS in Economics from Northeastern University.

Marius has been a member of the Board of Directors since 2002, and most recently served as President from 2004-2007. He is also the Lufthansa District Sales Manager for New England, a position he assumed in 2002. As part of his duties as District Sales Manager, he leads a team of Account Managers in promoting Lufthansa as a preferred carrier of choice for corporate and private travelers requiring airline service from New England to Europe and beyond.
Marius attended Northeastern University, and has worked for Lufthansa since 1988. He is married to his wife Carol, and together with their 2 sons Alexander and Christopher they reside in Malden, MA. Marius enjoys spending time with his family, skiing, jogging, biking and coaching his sons’ baseball team(s).

Rob’s practice encompasses a wide range of business and financing transactions as well as the protection and exploitation of intellectual property and data assets. He devotes substantial time to corporate finance, mergers and acquisitions and joint ventures, as well as marketing, licensing, distribution, franchising, and manufacturing agreements, with an emphasis on the software and information technology sector for both domestic and foreign companies. Two interrelated areas of concentration are complex licensing and technology transfer transactions, including technology alliances, and the planning, negotiating and documenting of business process and IT outsourcing transactions. He has a particular experience counseling clients from Germany, Austria and Switzerland. He also counsels clients regarding Internet, multi-media, publishing and advertising law.
He is admitted to practice in Massachusetts and before the U.S. District Court for the District of Massachusetts. Rob is a member of the Massachusetts and Boston Bar Associations.
Rob is a magna cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Yale University and was a Fulbright scholar at the University of Munich, Germany; he received his M.A. from Middlebury College, where he was valedictorian of his class, and his J.D. from Harvard Law School. He was a contributor for The Publishing Law Handbook, published by Prentice Hall Law & Business. Rob is fluent in German.

Horst was born in 1947 in Düsseldorf, Germany. He attained his Abitur in 1967; attended Ruhr-Uni Bochum (social sciences); Reed College, Portland OR (B.A. in sociology); Brandeis University, Waltham MA (M.A. in politics); and was a Fulbright Scholar 1969/70.
Horst held various positions, including News Editor (radio) for the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation, Montreal, Canada; Book Editor, Reader’s Digest of Canada, Montreal (until 1984); Editor of a horse magazine (American Farriers Journal), Ayer MA (until 1986); Head of technical publications, Siemens Medical Systems (until 1995); then, after more than two decades of serious home brewing, founder of Dornbusch Brewing Company, Inc., Ipswich MA (until 2000); since 2000, founder and owner of Cerevisia Communications, a consulting company in the international brewing industry, now with a solid client base in Europe and America; also, author of several books and hundreds of articles (technical and not) as well as public speaker on beer.
Horst is married to Elva Ellen Kowald; no kids, but two Maine Coon cats. He resides in West Newbury MA, and his hobbies include cooking and thinking.
His goal for the GABC is to have fewer but bigger events to preserve GABC’s relevance in an age of frantic living with busy members juggling hectic schedules and too many commitments.

Katharina Helmick

Prior to becoming a U.S. citizen, Katharina was a dual citizen of Austria and Brazil. Her business degree is from the University of Munich, where she earned her Diplom Kaufman in economics and business. She has served as a director of the company her late father founded, Transported Fink S.A., Rio de Janeiro, Brazil and ran her own international management consulting firm in the U.S. prior to becoming a financial advisor with LPL Financial. She is on the board of the Friends of the Weston Public Library. Her daughter Kristiana is Vice President, Consumer Marketing, at InStyle. With her husband Brooks, who is Managing Director of The IML Boston Group, she enjoys hiking, reading, biking, movies and tennis.

Dr. Bernd Rinnert

Bernd Rinnert has been a GABC member-at-large since November, 2005. He came to Boston in July 2005 and has served since then as Deputy Consul General of the Federal Republic of Germany in New England.
Bernd Rinnert grew up and lived in Karlsruhe, Baden-Württemberg (Southern Germany). He studied Physics at Karlsruhe University. In April 1981 he joined the German Foreign Service. From March 1985 to March 1990 he served in Kabul, Afghanistan and Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. From July 1993 to July 2001 he was head of the Economic Sections of the German Embassies in Budapest, Hungary and Moscow, Russia respectively.
He holds a PhD in Civil Engineering from the University in Stuttgart, Germany.
