Senior Research Associate
Dr. Hannes Adomeit is Senior Research Associate at the Research Institute for International Politics and Security (Stiftung Wissenschaft und Politik) in Berlin. He has held teaching and/or research positions at numerous institutions in several countries, including the International Institute for Strategic Studies in London; the Institute for Soviet and East European Studies in Glasgow; the Royal Military College of Canada and Queen's University in Kingston, Ontario; and the Rand/UCLA Center for the Study of Soviet International Behavior in Santa Monica, California. From 1989 to 1997 Dr. Adomeit was Professor of International Politics and Director of the Program on Russia and East-Central Europe at the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy at Tufts University, and Fellow at the Harvard Russian Research Center. Dr. Adomeit was educated at the Freie Universität Berlin, where he received a degree in political science. He continued his studies at Columbia University in New York where he was awarded a Ph.D.
