Goethe-Institut Boston is seeking Public Relations and Event Planning Associate
The Goethe-Institut is the cultural institute of the Federal Republic of Germany with a global reach. We promote knowledge of the German language abroad and foster international cultural cooperation. The Goethe-Institut offers German language courses and certificate exams for learners of all proficiency levels.
The Goethe-Institut Boston is seeking a Public Relations and Event Planning Associate (30 hours/week) to start January 15, 2022 or later.
Responsibilities:
- Maintenance of the institute’s website
- Responsibility for social media activities
- Press relations and marketing for events
- Contact person for external inquiries
- Event management (e.g. preparation of contracts, organization of technical equipment, temporary staff, catering, contact person for partners, support of guests)
- General office duties
Requirements:
- Experience in the planning and implementation of cultural projects and events
- Professional experience in the field of press and public relations and social media management (Instagram, Twitter, Facebook)
- Experience in digital media, livestreaming, knowledge of CMS software Contens an advantage
- Excellent oral and writing skills (confident and lively writing style)
- Very good knowledge of German and English
- High social and intercultural competencies
- Very good communication skills
- Time flexibility (occasional evening/weekend work)
- Ability to work in a team, initiative, resilience
