GABC Privacy Policy

The German-American Business Council of Boston, Inc. (GABC) greatly values the privacy of members, donors, supporters and other visitors to its website. GABC is committed to protecting all information collected on its website and in any other manner from all members and other users.

While members may opt to share their contact information with GABC, the contact coordinates, bios and company descriptions provided to GABC are used for internal purposes only– unless specifically allowed by the member. “Visible only to GABC Members” is the default option when members fill out their online profiles. However, members do have the option of making their profile public if they choose, by filling out the section “Visible to the General Public”. If they choose to have their profile public, they may be contacted by parties outside of GABC’s network and control. However, regardless of whether the default privacy setting is used, or the public setting is used, GABC uses member profile information for the express purposes of sending information, receipts, invitations, introductions, confirmations, and referrals—all of which are deemed to be pertinent to the receiver and welcome. We also use it to address requests or questions. GABC is a networking organization. Introductions and the sharing of information between trusted sources is a necessary, expected, and desirable benefit for members, if used responsibly. GABC strives always to use member information responsibly, and with the best interest of the member in mind. By using GABC’s website, members and other users consent to its privacy policy.

GABC does not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer our mailing list of members to outside parties under any circumstances. As a nonprofit member-based organization committed to providing support to the German-American business community, GABC offers third-party links to additional resources. GABC also uses third party sites such as Constant Contact for the purpose of sending emails and 1and1.com for website support.  We use Google Analytics for tracking visits to the GABC website. We use PayPal and QuickBooks Online for accepting payments. These third-party sites have separate and independent privacy policies. GABC has neither responsibility nor liability for the content and activities of these linked sites. Nonetheless, GABC seeks to protect the integrity of its site and welcomes feedback about these links.

If GABC changes its privacy policy, those changes will be posted on this page.
