Special Fireside Chat: Our Stewardship for the Next Generation

Tuesday, Oct 15, 2024

Join us for an unconventional Fireside Chat with Martin Madaus and Pascal Mittermaier who have led very successful business careers, and have now turned their attention to the topic of sustainability. As former life sciences executives both approach this new challenge from a complete new angle and most importantly, with humility and personal accountability. For this edition of GABC’s Fireside Chat they are asking:

Our stewardship for the next generation – do we have a moral duty to leave a livable planet behind?
Why thinking more deeply about “leading the good life” is crucial for us and for the planet.

They invite you to join them for an engaging, interactive and philosophical discussion about perhaps the most important topic of our age: how do we all live well and equitable in a world with real planetary boundaries. Science tells us that planetary boundaries are real, you can take them as important as other natural laws and it’s a critical matter for humanity that we understand and respect them.

For this edition of the Fireside chat, all registered guests will receive background information on the topic and as well as very short list of recommended reading and viewing materials prior to the event (it’s not required to read or watch the material, but may help with the discussion!)

Martin and Pascal will ask philosophical and maybe also uncomfortable questions in order to stimulate the conversation. There will be no right or wrong answers – the goal is to create a complete new awareness for the topic.

Get out of your comfort zone and join us for this GABC member event.

About the GABC Kamingespräche / Fireside Chats
This is an event format offered usually twice a year (fall and spring) where a topic is presented by one keynote speaker in a private setting — the home of a generous host in the Boston area. Fireside Chats are exclusively offered to GABC members only and provide an intimate setting and environment for GABC members to mix and mingle.
